Presence scales back the size of Physical Graffiti to a single album, but it retains the grandiose scope of that double record.
- Stephen Thomas Erlewine (AMG (3/5 Stars)

Presence is the seventh studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, released by Swan Song Records on 31 March 1976.

The album was written and recorded during a tumultuous time in the band's history, as singer Robert Plant was recuperating from serious injuries he had sustained in a recent car accident. The album received mixed reviews from critics and is one of the lowest sellers in the band's catalogue. Nonetheless, guitarist Jimmy Page describes Presence as the band's "most important" album, proving they would continue despite their turmoil.

Ripping Note

Luckily found this sealed record a few weeks ago. Pressing was close to perfect, nearly no surface noise. The sound is awesome.
The only disturbing thing are the sibiliants on track B4...Because they are in the groove I kept them as they were tracked.

Thanks Aksman!

Presence is my personal favourite Zep record. I bought this LP when it first came out.
I have no idea how the above reviewer could have given it 3 of 5 stars.
This record represents all that was great about LZ in one record.

Cheers!

@ dennismoore

I agree, ratings from allmusic.com are strange sometimes.

I thought I had read somewhere a comment from Dr.Robert that you were getting a new setup. I, for one, am very curious about any details you'd be willing to share. Does this mean that if this is a significant upgrade that some re-rips are comming? How exciting!!

ps I've noticed that Dr. Rob is not posting here any longer. Something happen that I missed?

Congrats on your new TT Aksman. (New cartridge too?) So how are you liking it? Going by the pictures on their site, I like the looks of it. It seems to be a fine example of the Danes minimalist approach, simple lines, no unnecessary frills, and fine engineering that keeps the complexities hidden. I'm not familiar with Bergmann but they seem to be garnering some very positive reviews in the audio mags

@ vaultman110

Yes, my setup is completely new. Please take a look at the technical log to get the full infos. All rips made with my new rig, which is a major upgrade to my previous one, are naamed "Definitely Master Rip" or "DMR series" to make it easier for everyone to identify to get a close to optimum vinyl transfer.

@ Deelaudid

Yes, also the Cartridge and the PhonoAmp are new. In fact I upgraded my whole analogue setup. I'm extremly pleased with it and currently rediscovering my record collection. So much things I missed before. There is no comparisson between this and my old setup...

I'm just a "casual" HI-FI lover not a picky "bat-eared" comrade, BUT EVERYTHING you have shared with us up until now, sounds just marvelous.
Looking forward to discover the "difference" with your new rig.
Once again, thanks a million.

Glad you're enjoying it Aksman. It's great when you get a new piece of stereo equipment and you start noticing things in the recordings that you didn't hear before, or the music just sounds better in many ways and it's almost like you're hearing parts of your music collection all over again
