| “ | It's this delicate balance and how the album showcases the band's narrative force on a small scale as well as large that makes this their arguable high-water mark. - Stephen Thomas Erlewine/AMG (5/5 Stars) | ” |
Selling England by the Pound is the fifth studio album by the progressive rock band Genesis and was recorded and released in 1973. It followed Foxtrot and was the band's commercial peak so far hitting No.3 in the UK where it remained on the charts for 21 weeks. The album went gold in the US in 1990. It was also a major breakthrough in terms of critical reception.
The album cover is a painting by Betty Swanwick called The Dream. The original painting did not feature a lawn mower; the band had Swanwick add it later as an allusion to the song "I Know What I Like."

Yes, I'm gonna comparing this one to Your remastered LPs-Box :-)
many thanks
UPD
...and after comparison I have to say that SEBTP from aksman's 6-box rip remains the best. of course that's valid for my ears and DIY speakers or Grados, so opinions may vary. But my opinion is right!
Personally I'm looking for a good vinyl rip Foxtrot, Genesis masterpiece.
Thank you very much, aksman.

So on these figures alone, which of course are limited in their scope, your new rip is quite some improvement.

Thank you very much.
just listen to this rip and compare with your box version half speed mastered. For my ears, the half speed version sound more open, not so compressed like this one, although Bernie did the mastering. Thank you very much for the possibility to compare!!!
I never understand about this 200g genesis series, is a new mix? not the originals from original master tapes?
thank you!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS for all your excellent work, Aksman!
@samdaman... THANKS!

Thanks to Doc Rob!
Be warned though, aksman might re-rip if he still has the set!
Only a short while ago I listened to your box set. To me the box set sounds more brilliant and open. Highs are cleaner and mids more defined. AB comparison on Firth Of Fifth revealed the box set as the winner for me.
EDIT: Nevermind, I think it's just fine.
Anyway, the sound quality is just impeccable... Now may I ask, which release do you yourself prefer, this Classic release or the Nick Davis remaster?
If there are any differences between left and right then it must be in the groove (although I didn't noticed something here)... I never change the settings of the ADC.
Beside that, I prefer the Classic's because of the use of the original mixes. They have a better dynamic and sound more natural to me.
Thank you
