Chico Buarque - Os Saltimbancos Trapalhões (1981) [vinyl rip]

Os Trapalhões was a very popular Brazilian comedy group that holded a tv show and stared a series os movies between the 1970's to early 1990's, under the personas of Didi, Dedé, Zacarias and Mussum. The group dissolved after the death of two former members, Zacarias and Mussum.

This release is the great soundtrack from their movie "Os Saltimbancos Trapalhões", basead on a play by Chico Buarque de Hollanda. The music have special guest singers on some songs, like Elba Ramalho, Lucinha Lins and João Gilberto's daughter Bebel Gilberto.
In the context of the Military Dictartorship installed in Brazil with the financial and military guidance of United States of America this album becomes meaninful. Taking the plot from "The Town Musicians of Bremen" by the brothers Grim Chico Buarque created a story against opression and social injustice where the hope of freedom and will to overthrow the Barons and Kings never leaves the heart of men.
