When a reporter travels to Juarez to cover the ongoing story of the mass murder of local workingwomen, she uncovers the amazing story of "The Virgin Of Juarez," a survivor of an attack who has developed stigmata, a sign of holiness, and whose followers will do whatever she asks.

Kevin James Dobson's The Virgin Of Juarez recounts the story of Karina Danes (Minnie Drive), a Los Angeles based reporter investigating the killings of hundreds of young women in the border town of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. While on assignment, Danes meets Mariela (Ana Claudia Talancón), a rare survivor of one of these vicious attacks. During her recovery, Mariela sees visions of the Virgin Mary and experiences the phenomenon of stigmata. Mariela and her story soon draw a devout following and her sermons galvanize a public in need of hope.
