This double-disc DVD features footage from two different shows on two different tours. The concert on the first disc is taken from the second of the band’s three-date sold out stint at Brixton Academy back in 2004, during the Abbottoir Blues European tour. The second disc features footage culled from the Hammersmith Apollo show on the Nocturama tour of 2003, alongside some great bonus material like a behind the scenes look at the ‘Bring It On’ video shoot and the short film, ‘Abbottoir Blues / The Lyre Of Orpheus’. In addition to all this, you get music videos for seven songs. Frankly, extra features or no extra features, the concert footage alone makes this an essential purchase for Bad Seeds fans. Watching Nick Cave, Warren Ellis and co flailing about like lunatics during the foul-mouthed poetry of ‘Stagger Lee’ is just awesome.
