This is Jimi alone in his apartment in New York sometime in 1968, rehearsing songs that were supposed to be on Electric Ladyland with just a guitar, one mike and a small amp.
The sound quality is what is absolutely stunning about these songs - there is virtually no tape hiss, dead silence in ambient background, just Jimi, playing very relaxed and laid-back. You can hear him turning pages of sheet music during some bridges and breaks between songs, and just when you think you've heard everything, the phone rings (and goes unanswered) near the end of the album.

could you start, if it's not big trouble, to consider uploading also a mirror on mediafire...or if that's not possible, in megaupload?
goa:
rapidshare promised new servers for march, and a lot of the download limitations will be gone.
Check out their homepage / news.
And never forget:
Uploading is WAY SLOWER than downloading !
Great work mate. :)
Cheers
LeftyRight
According to Avax rules anyone is free to post mirrors as long as the author does not forbid it in his posting. But I see this opportunity is rarely used by downloaders.
As uploading takes quite some time I think this is a one off experiment, but let's see how many people will use the alternate options.
Mediafire:

Megaupload

I use JDownloader.
I used the Hendrix mediafire links now at work, and reached the speed of 1 MB
(at home my dl speed is only 70 kbps :-( )
RS is blocked here, and MU is quite good for free users, and the speed I get is around 300 kbps, not bad at all.
RS for free usurs sucks, yesterday at home, "there are no availible slots" for 2 damn hours!!!
StevJobs: I really appreciatted the MF...why is not popular, I don't get it?
Why MF isn't more popular I don't know. Upload speeds are average for me and I can only upload one file at a time. For multiuploads I'd have to upgrade to premium user and have to pay them. There isn't a rewards program for uploaders too so I guess that's why it isn't so popular either.
It's enough of a hassle to manage one filesharing service alone, so I guess most people stick to what it is used by most: RS...
and with mediafire you could upload several files, a pair of clicks and that's all
I do it, and YOU know I did it recently for you
There is no need to premium.
anyway, thanks and check your e-mail for a LR DVD
Sound is Great!
One Jimi worth dozen of some others...
Thank You for mirrors - used both and finished in 4 minutes.
RS would take hours...
Thank You for this new, rare Jimi!
Thanks for this new-to-me Jimi CD!
Anyway enjoy this fine Jimi recording. It is quite different to what you usually hear on a Hendrix release.
Very nice they have puted the benefit CD inside the book.
Thank you Steve for this great jobs! :)))
I have premium RS account but I hate that crap hoster, RS use us like chip workers.
I have a lot premium points but I can't use it to extend my account more than one month,
but at same time is allowed to pay cash every day for few years in advance.
btw
Are the scans original or you made them?
For non-premium users it must be worst. Like I experience it with services where I am the free user...
I'm trying some alternatives - let's see how they work.
I have made all the scans myself. On my Epson scanner... :-)
if you have some more JH in this "relaxed" state, official or bootleg, would be welcomed.
P.S: If you don't have a premium RS, it's because you don't share anything !
Thank you very much for posting this great CD in FLAC. I downloaded from MediaFire, but only because the RS links are dead.
