Salvatore Accardo is an outstanding Italian violin virtuoso, best known as a master of the works of Niccolo Paganini, but equally accomplished across a wide variety of repertory for the instrument. His playing is characterized by a taut, visceral tone and a disciplined musical approach that avoids self-indulgence. Having also established himself as a successful conductor, chamber musician and teacher, Accardo may be considered one of the most accomplished and influential musicians of his generation.

Thanks, but I must buy this on DSD SACD, or there is not much point in it, am I not right? I mean it's a disc for sound, to try to reproduce that violin sound as closely as is possible today. Hope it's still available in the shops...

fanny.xenakis.....not sure if you knew this but FLAC is a lossless format which means that it has the full dynamic range and sound quality of the original recording. So therefore you would only want to buy the CD if you felt it was morally wrong not to, which is open to debate, so that is were it is left to the individual to decide.

Thank you royse!

@fanny.xenakis: I completely agree with trench. You'll hear the best sound of Accardo's violin in Flac files.

@ trench and @ zedda piras: Forgive me; I didn't mean to be rude, but for me, buying the album will give me the highest audio quality. FLACs are derived from the CD-audio layer, meaning they sound as good as the cd, right? I have, though, never heard or heard of a ripped SACD layer, which makes all the difference. The SACD surround is a totally different sonic experience altogether, especially on an album like this one which from the scans state it was recorded in DSD.

Warm thanks for the beautiful work!
It's a little more comfortably in this case to use cue file: http://rapidshare.com/files/347122786/SA_-_cue.rar
