Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (March 4, 1678 – July 28, 1741), nicknamed il Prete Rosso ("The Red Priest"), was a Venetian Baroque composer, priest, and famous virtuoso violinist. He was born and raised in the Republic of Venice. The Four Seasons, a popular series of four violin concerti, is his best-known work. His other compositions include over 500 instrumental concertos, sacred choral works and over 40 operas.

Thanx, but I think this post is not completely correct. Tracklist is OK but the Orchestra & conductor actually are Alberto Lizzio & I Musici di San Marco.

For sure this is not by this "Herbert Fleischermann" stated on the scanned cover - well, whatever, it is a very pleasing recording (even if the origin is doubtful the performance is 1st class) - thanks!!!

A few days ago I heard on Otto's Baroque Musick webradio the not very often played concerto 'Del Ritico'. I searched desperately in order find back this concerto, but just found an obsolete post on avax ( http://avaxhome.ws/music/classical/VivaldiVolume2.html - Sep 2007 ).
I think now I have found what I looked for. Thank you !
