America: A Tribute to Heroes was a benefit concert organized by producer Joel Gallen and actor George Clooney and broadcast by the four major United States television networks in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and The Pentagon.
Done in the style of a telethon, it featured a number of national and international entertainers performing to raise money for the victims and their families, particularly but not limited to the New York City firefighters and New York City police officers.

Exactly what makes the poor victims of the 9/11 attacks heroes? Dying? Going to work that day? As George Carlin correctly put it: "...if any of those people had known what was going to happen that day, they would have stayed the fuck home!"

What part of the description above: "performing to raise money for the victims and their families, particularly but not limited to the New York City firefighters and New York City police officers." is so hard for you to understand?
The firefighters did a fantastic job trying to save people, and some of them died. That's true heroes.
And of course the benefit concert raised money also to the victims families.

We really don't need comments like this on a great site like Avax.
