I grew up listening to Werner's renditions of the Cantatas.
In spite of the advent of HIP, some remain the best extant performances (in the opinion of
Aryeh Oron of bach-cantatas.com and others).
Thank-you very much for this spectacular music!
If you have the rest of Werner's cantata performances, please consider my humble request to continue sharing them (lulis has them but disdains to respond to my entreaties -- I realize that ripping and uploading them all is a major effort). I know that Harnoncourt/Leonhardt, Koopman, and Suzuki collections have appeared in file-sharing space, but Werner's recordings are important, not just for the purpose of comparing current interpretations with past ones, but because of their great beauty.
My Werner collection is not complete and not all of it is on CD, but I'll post more in the future - when I find the time. (Or twice that time, considering they are double CD's.)
Thanks =))
