The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour (1967) - 2009 U.S. Mono Remaster
EAC | FLAC | LOG | CUE | M3U | HQ Scans/Booklet | 162 MB total

The Magical Mystery Tour E.P. was released in the UK and Europe in 1967. American label Capitol made the decision (in their infinite wisdom) to make an album by combining the tracks from this E.P. with the A-sides and B-sides of singles released that same year. Capitol also decided to create a sickly, artless album sleeve by framing the cover of the UK E.P. in a yellow-orange border, and listing the tracks in bright red on the front. In 1972 the American album was also officially released in the UK, and has been included in the 2009 UK Beatles In Mono box set.

Another great upload, but would you mind keeping the file splits a little larger if possible please?
Posted By: wall Date: 13 Sep 2009 01:36:45
It bad, bad quality
It from torrent...
Posted By: LezDawson Date: 13 Sep 2009 01:55:33
@ wall: you dick head. I provided the scans. I provided CUE and LOG files. What more fucking proof do you need, you illiterate fuckwit! In fact, show me where there's a fucking torrent of this. I have posted dozens of rips on Avax - do you really think I would try and rip people off with false claims now? You, on the other hand, have not shared anything at all - except your baseless accusations. If you don't like the sound quality - fair enough, stop taking them. But quit with the "eet bad, eet from torrent" bullshit.

@ poop: sorry, if you don't like to download 4 files, don't take it! ;)

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication in getting these up in cyberspace.

Lez... please ignore these poor people...
You know that for every troll as the one above there are 50 other guys (me one of them) who will be eternaly thankfull to you!

Thank you very much for this gem!

LezDawson, are you SURE you didn't get these from a torrent?? LOL

Thanks a lot man! I see this one has a cue file so that means you figured out how to make one. Congratulations!! I guess I am the last person on the planet that still doesn't know how. I may install EAC and work on that. I don't know if foobar will do it and if it does, I can't figure it out. The lack of a cue file never bothered me because I didn't use one to burn it to a cd anyway. I am probably the last person in that category too. A friend said I was "digitally challenged". Go figure. And all along I thought I was just stupid.

Thanks for your trouble. I hope you can post the rest of these without getting in the dog house for staying up so late.

As we say at Spain "hay gente pa' to'" (there are peopple "for everything" = by all condition). Calm down or you will end totally burn out.

Altemont said the right words: Thanks very much for both the wonderful music, effort and generosity.

Disregard the others.

It's alright folks, I'm not really mad! :P I just felt like hitting 'wall' on the forehead with a spoon.
I've been ripping and posting these from the bird's place this weekend, but am off home now, so will post more from home this evening.

@LezDawson: well there's a little trick (I'm using it on ebay) to give a proof of an originality (that the item is yours).
Take a little piece of paper, write your nick there and put it on top of a CD/CD cover. Than take a picture (mobile phone) and include it in the scans.
If everyone would do it we wouldn't have some torrents here on avax, which makes some ppl angry, but "wall" is a troll anyway.
But I laughed from your response as well.

Many thanks for these rips, as I would probably never buy them (I'm not "beatles guy"). Avax is full of Beatles last couple of weeks :)

@LezDawson : peu importe la source, l'essentiel c'est de faire l'effort de partager. Je ne permettrai pas de critiquer. Si les gens ne sont pas contents, ils peuvent toujours aller sur Amazon !

Merci beaucoup and Have a Nice Day.

Guys,

Firstly, I notice that the "US" copy of this set has "Made In Japan" on the disc scan. My point is... Has anyone determined any difference in sound quality between the us/japan release and the uk release. I don't expect there to be, even though Japanese pressings generally rule.

Great work Lez. VG indeed!
Posted By: farmerjohn Date: 13 Sep 2009 10:37:44
@cityzenn

There are no UK/US Releases of the mono cds since ALL boxes are manufactured in Japan

@wall

Just buy the damn thing yourself then if you don't believe anyone and stop complaining...
People like you shouldn't be allowed here.
Posted By: ramonjd Date: 13 Sep 2009 11:17:53
@farmerjohn:
Thanks a lot for your explanation. I apologize for my ignorance, but then, must I think UK, US or EU are only commercial affairs?

I believed there must be some acoustic differences, as if they come from different masters (once again, excuse my ignorance...).
Posted By: farmerjohn Date: 13 Sep 2009 12:18:42
Yes, Japan was only the location where they were produced for all other countries.
Sometimes you see the Mono Box offered as japanese import, but the only difference is that the booklets are in japanese.
The CDs are exactly the same worldwide, and they all come straight from the original master tapes.

@farmerjohn:
Thanks again for your clear explanation. No doubts now.

>do you really think I would try and rip people off with false claims now?

Yes, I downloaded yours rips - is the bad quality!

Yes, I have already deleted yours rips. It is converted from mp3!

What a troll....

How do you explain this frequency graphs then:
http://i31.tinypic.com/swbyom.png
http://i31.tinypic.com/29wpdmh.png

Extending well beyond 20.000Hz, no cutoff at all.
I bet you can't....

I think my title of 'U.S. mono remaster' caused confusion, judging by some comments. It is 'U.S.' because this album was never originally released in the U.K. (not until 1972 anyway). The U.K. had the Magical Mystery tour double-E.P. plus singles, whereas the U.S. had singles and then this manufactured album (by Capitol). This is a reproduction of that U.S. album. But the CDs are all made in Japan. But I bought this in the U.K. And my head hurts.

@ wall: wow, you're a clever little bastard aren't you, you guessed my trick. I got all these from 128kbps MP3 torrents. Congratualations for being the first to find me out! Your prize is to go and fuck yourself. As hard as you like.
Posted By: 4-F Date: 13 Sep 2009 16:03:18
Lez, your quality is getting worse by the minute. Now it is converted mp3 from a torrent. By tomorrow it will be a cassette rip converted from mp3 downloaded from a torrent. LOL

farmerjohn, in trying to convince wall, you are pissing in the wind and right now the wind is at hurricane force. Logic, reason and facts will get you nowhere. I'm enjoying my download, how about you? :)
Posted By: farmerjohn Date: 13 Sep 2009 16:11:36
It's more about what wall is trying to achive here:
Confuse the unsure. So i'm just trying to level the game a bit ;)

And yes, enjoying them quite a lot :)
Posted By: LezDawson Date: 13 Sep 2009 16:26:22
Thanks guys. I don't mind saying, I wasn't bowled over by some of the mono masters myself - I do tend to prefer the stereo ones a lot. And I do think that just a little bit of limiting would have made these sound better and less rough-edged. But it's laughable how even with the evidence of the log and cue file, that twat still made such an accusation! Are people really that stupid? Yes, I know what you're going to say: of course they frigging are. More MP3 rips - err I mean CD rips to come shortly. Save my posts to your favourites.

farmerjohn, actually I knew that is what you were doing...and that it really had nothing to do at all with convincing wall.

LezDawson, I agree with your everything you said above about the mono remasters, stereo remasters and stupid people. I know a lot more about stupid people since I have been a member of the club for over 50 yrs. I do think these mono remasters are better than it seems you think they are do but agree they could have had a little less "rough edge" as you put it.

You know, I have paid good money for items on ebay that I knew beforehand that weren't ever going to be on my favorites list. I bought them because I was interested in hearing it. Maybe I liked a song by a one hit wonder group and they had an album. I may have read the album sucked but for whatever reason, I wanted to hear it for myself. I download things for the same reason. Curiosity. I won't be playing the mono versions as much as the stereo versions but I am just as glad to get them. You can bet I will have them backed up. For me this is not a "give it a listen, prefer the stereo, delete the mono" thing at all. I already have 2 friends that want me to make them a copy and I will as soon as I get them all. And they want me to make a copy of both the stereo and mono box sets. One of the guys is likely to buy the set because he has money and spends it on cds. If he likes what he hears compared to what he already owns, he will buy it. The other guy has a hard time keeping his electricity bill paid so I know he will be thrilled to get a cdr to keep. Myself, I got laid off and until I find a job, you can bet your ass that I won't be spending any money on box sets. But I will have more time to listen to them. lol

Thanks again and btw, I have you tabbed. Every time I open the browser a few tabs come up. Saves time and reduces the chance I miss one. :)

@ 4-F: Very nice to know these rips are going to such needy causes! Enjoy! :)
Posted By: 4-F Date: 13 Sep 2009 19:21:14
Lez, needy.....that's me. lol

Guthead, thanks for sharing your scans. I see what you are talking about on the printing grade. It is interesting about the misprint. On the EU & USA issue it has the same misprint. At least they were consistent. :)
Posted By: cityzenn Date: 13 Sep 2009 20:16:53
@farmerjohn .Thanks mate. CZ

@Guthead. Thanks for the alternative scans.

@ Guthead: cool. Wait till you see my Sgt Pepper scans. Ultra hi def (necessary for the tiny lyrics on the back), VERY very nice. ;)

Ah ... so this is the vaunted 2009 Mono Remasters release? I first thought it was an LP rip or sumthin'. So then we have this, and someone else posted the first 6, and ... OK, I'll check it out.
