Someone please explain a benefit of the mono versions of this music...!
Posted By: pichon64 Date: 14 Sep 2009 14:01:17
@iONic: you have two choices for understanding this: 1) read about Beatles' history and specially recording techniques. 2) Hear both versions. You'll notice THE difference.

????

You have made it from mp3?

Very very bad quality...

And wall ist still a trolling dick....

Frequency analysis of the first song:

No mp3 source anywhere to be found....
And for comparison what a mp3 of that same song would really look like.

Take notice of the steep cutoff at 16khz.

Just ignore that troll and enjoy the music.

For the very few of you that don't already know: LezDawson bought the box set and these are his rips and scans. Very nice job of doing it too.

Here is a BBC radio documentary celebrating George Martin's work with The Beatles:

Sorry it's only 128kbps (yuck) but is the best I could find.

@ farmerjohn - a 320k mp3 wouldn't have that cutoff. You only get a cutoff like that in sub-192k mp3s. Of course, I don't doubt that these are the real deal.

If only the scans were uploaded in seperate archives...
