The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band

The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band were one of the greatest(craziest) groups in the history of rock music, despite the fact that they were always essentially a schoolboy joke.

Formed in London in 1965 by a group of art students, the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band were not meant to be a rock group and still less a band with a well-defined line-up (for some gigs as many as thirty of them showed up), but over the course of two years a nucleus of "musicians" took shape: Rodney Slater (saxophone), Roger "Ruskin" Spear (all sorts of objects and machines), Vivian Stanshall (vocals, trumpet, ukulele) and Neil Innes (vocals, guitar, keyboard).

Here is a small offering of their Music. Any resemblance between their music and reality is coincidental. A Band that dressed a guy in a Gorrilla suit and then named their first album after him. Two the chief members were the Late Vivan Stanshall, know to mainstream music listners as the voice introducing the instruments on Tubular bells and Neil Innes who went on to appear with such rational humans as Monty Pythons Flying Circus

They had a hit single in 1968 with "I'm the Urban Spaceman" which was produced by Paul McCartney under the pseudonym "Apollo C. Vermouth".
