Tom Waits - Surfin' Minneapolis (1975)

Bootleg of a solo live performance at ASI Recording Studios, Broadway, Minneapolis, USA, recorded at an excellent quality from a KQRS-FM radio broadcast (Dec 16, 1975).



For those of you who follow Tom this a gem. Waits performs solo with his piano live at ASI Recording Studios, Broadway, Minneapolis. The flow of the show is excellent; storytelling between the songs, great sense of humour, "bare-boned" alternative performances, sometimes a capella, the bar atmosphere and Tom's beat poetry style of the 70's is all around.

Songs mainly come from Nighthawks at the diner, one of my favorite albums, and this goes as an essential supplement to it. The sound quality is almost perfect, probably originating from a pre-FM broadcast studio recording.
