Oasis – (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? Singles Box (1996) [4 UK CD Singles from their 1995 album and interview CD]

Four singles released in conjunction with Oasis’s 1995 album “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?”, plus a fifth CD which contains 18 minutes of random interviews. The interview CD is exclusive to this box set. Like the “Definitely Maybe” singles box released at the same time as this, these CDs are housed in a special box with a booklet. Singles are “Some Might Say,” “Roll With It,” “Wonderwall,” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger.” Each single contains four tracks, many previously unreleased. With complete booklet scans at 600 d.p.i. 16 tracks plus the interviews. As a special bonus I have included the very rare Japanese 6-track version of the “Some Might Say” CD single, which features a cover of The Beatles’ “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” and “Some Might Say (Demo Version)", and the U.S. version of the “Wonderwall” CD single, which has different mixes for two songs.

Collecting Oasis is extremely frustrating because they issue different b-sides to different territories. The Japanese version of one CD single might have exclusive tracks (case in point “Some Might Say” which has two tracks you can’t get anywhere else) or the version of a CD single issued in Germany might have two additional songs not found on the UK version but one of which is released in Australia. But while you will end up duplicating songs in a few cases to get everything, you can get virtually everything they ever released on CD if you look hard enough. The exception is the vinyl only “Bonehead’s Bank Holiday,” which has yet to appear on a CD. That brings us to the U.S. version of the “Wonderwall” CD single. This release was unique because even though it says the songs included are “taken from the UK single…” two of the songs appear here in previously unreleased mixes. It's anyone's guess whether this was an accident or by design but the differences were noticeable enough to get collectors attention and now the single is hard to find and expensive if you do find it. The differences are:
“Talk Tonight” runs 11 seconds shorter and at the end Noel says “You got any batteries?”
“Rockin’ Chair” does not start with a fade-in found on the UK version. It just starts.
