In Dream of the Orient, Concerto Köln joins forces with Sarband. The two groups have assembled a programme that features both Turkish-influenced Western music by Mozart, Kraus, Gluck and Süssmayr, and traditional Turkish music – such as janissary marches and sacred songs, as well as music performed in the seraglios. The result is a unique fusion of Western & Turkish sounds. Concerto Köln have earned an international reputation for their inspired programmes and "brilliant,emotionally charged" performances. The innovative orchestra has already created quite a stir with its musical explorations, but this program goes a step beyond. Even for Concerto Köln it represents a strikingly unusual music adventure and totally new experience.
