When Mozart wrote these last symphonies in 1788, vienneese audience - more conservative than ever - did not follow any more the « avant-garde » master. All aspects of human expression are investigated. Going against established convention, the 40e symphony - world known - was composed in a minor key without trumpets and timpani. The molto allegro contains daring harmonics, and served later as a source of inspiration for Schubert in his symphonies 1 & 5. The « Jupiter » symphony (n°41) is a titanic work. Mozart achieved unequaled perfection in terms of development (unusually long) and style. This masterpiece synthesizes innovations (coda imitation and buffo style in the 1st movement, daring chromatism in the andante belonging more to the XIX century, descending chromatic passage in the Menuetto...) and more traditional elements (baroque structures - concerto and fugue...) These symphonies present different character : n°40 in g minor makes clear references to opera, n°41 in C major, includes elements from baroque music (the overture, the concerto and the fugue). The synthesis of sonata form and fugue in the last symphony was, and still is, a « tour de force » that could only have been written by Mozart.

Thanks for this upload. Nice orchestra, nice director. Sounds very good. I enjoy this record. I'm looking forward to hear his Haydn works (mass, symphonies, orchestra).

"When Mozart wrote these last symphonies in 1788, vienneese audience - more conservative than ever - did not follow any more the « avant-garde » master."

Total nonsense. Uncorroborated by any evidence.

"Going against established convention, the 40e symphony - world known - was composed in a minor key without trumpets and timpani."

Just like countless other symphonies written by Mozart's contemporaries.

"...any recording that make someone who, like me, knows these symphonies like the back of his hand, listen to the music afresh and hear new things in it, are versions to be treasured."

Hear new things? This recording is surprisingly tame and fortunately doesn't present any "new things". Chances are these well-known mannerisms wouldn't be good things.

Well if Immerseel has said all that, who am I to argue. I'll judge for myself whether or not these are enlightening performances and my thanks to the uploader for sharing this recording.

It's not the first time that I see here in Avaxhome one of my uploads that I made in Eliteclasica and HQShare.net.

First of all I must say that I'm very glad that the music I share in emule (because it is the network that I want to use) is also shared here by alternative ways as Rapidshare, I recognize the efforts of the avax publisher to upload the files to RS, and the most important thing is that I always feel that THIS IS NOT MY MUSIC, so the same act of sharing the music is because I want to share with other people one of the things I must love.

But in other hand I think that it's just rude not to mention that the rip/file it is not Original, and of course don't thank the original uploader, I'm not talking about mention the name, in my particular case I don't care, but at least I think it will be nice that when someone shares here in avax the work of other uploaders of any other sites, at least recognize and be thankful to the original uploader who also take his time to rip the cd, scan the covers, etc.

So, after said that, I just hope that all you find interesting the record, and of course be free for still sharing my uploads in EC and HQS here, not problem at all, but I'll like that as I said before, at least when you do that be fair and mention that this is the work of another person.

Regards.

PS. To the admin: I don't want and I'm not asking for ban this post, as I said not problem for me, but it's been a time that I see such a behaviour here (post work of other uploaders of other sites without any mention of that and without show any gratitude) that I feel the need to mention it.
