Return of the Firebird presents film recreations of three of the most celebrated Ballet Russes premieres from Paris in the early years of the twentieth century. They are headed by The Firebird, whose performance brought the young Igor Stravinsky overnight fame. In this, as in the other two ballets, the lead male role is taken by the charismatic young Russian dancer, Andris Liepa, who also conceived the project and directs these films. Accompanying The Firebird is Petrushka (Stravinsky's next success) and Scheherazade, Fokine's ballet set to the popular score by Rimsky-Korsakov.

I'm sorry, but I don't upload in DVD-quality because the uploadspeed of my provider is not that high. However, I don't see a great difference between DVD which as you know uses the rather old mpeg-2 and 1000 kbps 2-pass Divx.

A DVD don't use DivX, it's uncompressed plus the interest is that the sound is top quality and surround. Both video and sound are prime quality.

Dear accatone,

First of all this. I know that you've uploaded far more items than me. Thank you for that. However I Would have liked some kind of appreciation for me in reply to your request to upload Sheheherazade.

That being said, I Don't want to start a discussion on technical quality because that's very subjective. There are people around who are convinced that the old LP is better than the CD because CD also uses a digital image of the analog signal.
However, me myself doesn't see and hear very much difference between mp4 1000 kbps/192 mp3 and what you seem to call DVD-quality. Fact reamins that DVD is also compressed using mpeg-2. It's not uncompressed as you say. Mpeg-2 according to others is far more inefficient compared to mp4 (Divx is a version of mp4). That being said everything depends on bitrates. Mpeg-2 with a bitrate of 1000 kbps is far more worse than mp4 1000 kbps.

Considering sound. I listen to a lot of classical music in mp3 192 and to me it sounds fine and i don't hear the difference with PCM. I don't like the artificial surround sound. However if you like next time I will upload with dolby prologic/surround.

For starterst. please download first and after that have a look on the quality and than come back to me.

unfortunately part 5 corrupted. downloaded two times with the same result. and no way to repair, archives without recovery records

Part 5 was indeed somehow or another corrupted. I fixed it and now it should work fine again. Tried it myself.
