Naturally, the unified construction of MANTRA is a musical miniature of the unified macrostructure of the cosmos, just as it is a magnification into the acoustic time-field of the unified micro-structure of the harmonic vibrations in notes themselves
Stockhausen, from the attached sleeve text

So this is the release to have, if we may believe billeke. The Kontarsky brothers.

To answer your comment on DGG: of course you know in the seventies DGG was universally considered the best label in the world

This is indeed the first recording of "Mantra", and therefore a very interesting one, since it's performed by those who premiered the work.
But other very good recordings were made after this one, in particular the Ellen Corver /Sepp Grotenhuis recording supervised by Stockhausen, which is considered by many Stockhausen experts, and by Stockhausen himself!, as being the best recording of "Mantra"

Danke sehr! And is this the same recording that was later released as Stockhausen Edition CD 16?

Thank you very much, ooliver. I appreciate your generosity and time you took to do this.
Here, the review of the "Gramophone" (July 1972). I think it's interesting to know what was said at the time that these recordings appeared.

Can anybody tell me what the second G in DGG stands for?

Thanks for kind comments... I've added the last well documented KS disco, just to check:

@povipovillas as you can see on that disco there are 6 Mantra recordings and the winner is..... ;-)
(just for memory, in 1 day and half 194 downloads: my personal record;
re. Kurzwellen, 399 downloads in around 5 days!
in any case a real sign of glory for Mr. Stoky)

@MissFitt as you can see on that disco, yes CD 16 but unfortunately never found on the web.

I have this as well, but your ripping chain is much better than mine ...:-). I listened to this work in Torino Conservatorio with the very Kontarskys and Meister Stockhausen. What a thrill! Thanks a lot.
