Beatle John Lennon and his performance artist bride Yoko Ono continued their experimental recordings with “Wedding Album,” their third album of avant-garde sounds. The album was intended to celebrate/chronicle their well publicized courtship, jet setting, and “Bed-In For Peace” staged during their March 1969 honeymoon. Never ones to shy away from publicity the pair recognized that their honeymoon would be of interested to reporters so they invited media from around the world into their honeymoon suite and conducted around the clock interviews. Reporters expecting something racy instead found the pajama-clad Lennons spreading the word about peace.
This is the 1997 Ryko CD issue with complete booklet scans at 600 d.p.i.
The original album was issued by Apple Records (catalog # 3361) in November 1969.
For this release the artist is billed as “John Ono Lennon & Yoko Ono Lennon”.
On the original LP, track 1 (“John & Yoko”) and track 2 (“Amsterdam”) each took up an entire side of the record and running between 22 and 25 minutes each. Tracks 3-5 listed below are bonus tracks on the 1997 CD reissue only. Tracks 3 and 4 are b-sides to John Lennon singles issued in 1970 and 1971. Generally speaking, Yoko was given the b-side of Lennon’s singles until 1971. “Who Has Seen The Wind?” was the b-side of “Instant Karma,” and “Listen, The Snow Is Falling” backed the “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” single. The version of “Don’t Worry Kyoko” presented here is a previously unreleased version recorded on cassette in 1968.

Thanks a lot, worstfilms! This was the only album by John Lennon that I did not have in lossless. But in fact he is my hero for life. Now I am a little bit happier.

A nice statement about love and peace. Lennon was really creative by exploring new ways what records could be about.
