Yoshi Wada – Earth Horns with Electronic Drone (2009)
Avant-garde | FLAC lossless | cuesheets+log | covers+booklet | 1h17m | 277mb
Label: Omega Point | cat. no. OP-0007

An intriguing experiment with pipe horns and electronic feedback. How it all works is explained in the info poster included in the archive. I hope you’ll understand what’s being said there; I didn’t. I’m not an engineer.
The music reminds of Phil Niblock’s hyperminimalism, or Stuart Dempster’s fabulously reverberated conch & didgeridoo music recorded at Cistern Chapel for example, but is not generated in the same way.
An absolutely magnificent album if you’re into this kind of meditative drone music.

Tracks:

01. Earth Horns with Electronic Drone

Performers:

Jim Burton – pipe horn
Garrett List – pipe horn
Barbara Stewart – pipe horn
Yoshi wada – pipe horn
Liz Philips – electronics

Pipe horns were constructed by Yoshi Wada himself.
