Henry Dutilleux - Chamber Music

Debussy, Achille-Claude / Jean-Efflam Bavouzet - Complete Piano Works Vol.3 & Vol.4 (2008)
Post-Romantic | 2CDs | FLAC | NO LOG | NO CUE | Easy CD-DA(vol3) EAC(vol4)| 479 Mb| Complete Booklets(fr.eng.de) | CHANDOS | RS

It sure have taken a long time but here they are ! Enjoy...
Bavouzet’s previous two volumes have been very well received both critically and commercially. In a recent review of volume two the LA Times wrote, ‘In what may turn out to be the greatest complete recorded survey of the composer’s piano music yet, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet… plays with such bracing clarity that hearing the early Romantic pieces, one feels like jumping into an icy pond after an hour in the sauna’. Of the same volume International Record Review has noted, ‘I had the highest praise for Jean-Efflam Bavouzet’s first volume of Debussy, and the present disc is fully the equal of that one in terms of colour, refinement of touch, spontaneity and technical finish…

'This is the fourth and final disc in Jean-Efflam Bavouzet’s Debussy series for Chandos, and perhaps the most impressive… Bavouzet’s performances manage to reconcile perfectly those echoes of the earlier sensuous writing with the newly invented, harder-edged sonorities. He is just as convincing in the two sets on Images as well, whether perfectly gilding the swoops and swirls of Poissons d’Or, or evoking the stately monumentality of Hommage à Rameau.'

The Guardian

Some tracks on Disc 4 were messy & had a too long filename, so I re-ripped the entire album with EAC.

Thanks!

On Volume 4 tracks 02,06,09,10,11,14,16,17,19 have too long filenames for Windows.
They extract with 7-zip but they don't function at all. These too-long-named files can not be named again. They are "locked".

Posted By: miseremei Date: 10 May 2009 11:21:09
Unfortunately some tracks on disc 4 (12-19) have "sizzles" :(
Posted By: tala215 Date: 10 May 2009 12:04:33
Thanks for sharing! Any chance you could convert Disc 4 into MP3 format?
Posted By: Ensio66 Date: 10 May 2009 12:07:29
Extracting with 7-zip to the root directory of the hard drive solved the problem.

Thanks mohammedsux.

Hi guys, sorry for the too-long filenames. I didn't change tags and filenames at all from freeDB... I'll check the lengh from now on!

@tala245 : I used to provide both formats but as I said it realy takes much time for me to upload. I think it'll be faster for you to convert the files yourself. As there's now many great tools to do so.

@miseremei : Unfortunately I can't test thoses right now... but, my english being what it is, could you be more specific ? have you tried another audio player ? Does someone else experience the same problem ?
I'll gladly re-upload any corrupted files, I'm just unsure about the problem right now.

Anyway thanks for your comments.
Regards

Dear,
I also have those 'gaps' (or 'clicks') problems on CD4.
It appear from track 12 to the end.
Maybe you can try to encode with reducing CD-Speed ripping (i use CDEx to encode).
Thanks in advance.
Posted By: midiinputproblem Date: 10 May 2009 17:31:56
True indeed... I just had an ear to thoses and I'm sorry about it!
It strange I've been trying to re-encodes thoses (at a slower speed) and the file can't be played though easy-cd give me no errors(neigher winamp or xion)...
So when re-ripping the entire album the files seems to work but with the clicks... and it happens only in flac!?
Eigher I'll re-up thoses in .ape or i'll try with eac.
Sorry for the delay.
