Methodo de Pianoforte (Piano Method), a pedagogical work written in 1821 for Nunes Garcia's son, Apollinário José, comprises a collection of pieces, delightful for studying, playing and listening, arranged in two series of 12 lessons and 6 Fantasias. Beside original melodies, José Maurício didn't hesitate quoting other composers, thus we find Haydn in the 7th lesson of the 2nd part, and Rossini in the 5th lesson of the 2nd part; he has also quoted his own melodies, as in the lessons 9, 11 and 12 of the 1st part, which use melodies from his exquisite Requiem. Ruth Serrão, pianist and teacher, whose dedication to brazilian music is worthy of the greatest praises, amalgamates here her work, started in 1980, rescuing José Maurício's oeuvre for the keyboard.

Me interesa mucho la obra de José Mauricio Nunes Garcia... [ojalá hubiera estado en formato .Flac...jeje... pero eso ya es un detalle]...
Si tuvieras a tu alcance más discos de música antigua brasileña o portuguesa... sería ideal si pudieras publicarlas...
Hace un tiempo , revisando la página del Centro Cultural Pró -Música, en relación con el festival de música colonial brasileña y música antigua de Juiz de Fora, me encontré con varios discos editados que contienen los registros de las respectivas presentaciones...
Existe uno dedicado a la ''obra profana'' de J. Mauricio Nunes... correspondiente al décimo festival... ¡si alguien lo encuentra que por favor lo publique¡¡¡¡

He quedado perplejo con el contenido de la página que indicaste... al menos, en lo tocante a música antigua brasileña... figuran discos que desconocía totalmente... y qué decir de las grabaciones del festival de música antigua... ni que me hubieras leído la mente...jeje
