Gustav Leonhardt was a major force in the movement to perform early music on period instruments. He was a keyboard player and conductor, and also a bit of a wiz in the recording studio. The Gustav Leonhardt Edition contains 21 discs of near perfect baroque music, with a heavy emphasis on harpsichord works. People insist that you can't buy happiness, but in fact you can.

This is a simply AMAZING upload and a super effort!

There seems to be a defect throughout the first 20 seconds of CD7 track 1. Is it on the source CD as well?
Thanks.

I downloaded the notes and they don't mention the recording dates anywhere. Does anyone know a source for this information? Perhaps it's on the box itself?

@ 2or3things, listening to the first seconds in the source CD there's a small lesser quality ending with an audible gap at 22".
The data you are looking for were in the last page of the booklet.
I posted it here: http://pixhost.ws/pictures/1056267

Thanks for the great (and huge) post!

By the way, some people are rather rude. trench makes it seem that he/she is doing you a favor by downloading the files. GOODBYE trench ; )

@ vongola, Thanks for checking the source CD & for the recording dates scan.
I hear quite noticable distortion during the entire first 20 sec or so (it's more like "wobble" with the sound cutting in and out). Too bad it's on the source CD, especially since it's one of the most beautiful passages.

@trench
lkrushel is absolutely right! You have to stop complaining about links. Use a download manager (e.g. Jdownloader) and thank heartily who spends time to give us wonderful music, instead.

Thanks a lot, vongola, for this tremendous effort and piece of work! All this music is absolutely great and the interpretation remains of the highest quality (at least for my humble ears...).
