You wrote: "I don't understand why I'd never heard of Harvey before..." which means that Harvey's works are seldom programmed at the festival/concert agendas. Too bad. I was lucky to hear him several times on stage and hope that interest to his music will be increasing more and more while the composer is still with us the living, he's at his 70's now.

Interesting is Harvey's approach of modernism through ancient cultures. Many of his compositions have Sanskrit names. Composer Ton de Leeuw ('26-'96), a Dutchman, had the same approach.
