Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART (1756-1791) Die Zauberflöte - The Magic Flute - René Jacobs
APE (EAC Rip) + CUE + LOG files | scans HQ (covers) | 3 CD set | DDD | TT: 2h47' | 327 MB + 194 MB + 207 MB + 46 MB (scans)
Release Date: 09/14/2010 | Recorded at Teldex Studio Berlin, in November 2009

This recording represents the peak of René Jacobs's Mozartian enterprise: after showing us an alternative way of looking at the Da Ponte trilogy and taking a profoundly innovative approach to the two great opere serie (Idomeneo and La clemenza di Tito), he has now sets out to harmonise and clarify the myriad viewpoints exposed in Die Zauberflöte, ranging far beyond its Masonic rituals and mixture of dramatic genres. As a result, Mozart's most 'nocturnal' work is illuminated as if by . . . magic.

Performers: Marlis Petersen (Soprano), Anne-Kristiina Kaappola (Soprano), Daniel Behle (Tenor),
Marcos Fink (Baritone), Sunhae Im (Soprano), Daniel Schmutzhard (Baritone)
Conductor: René Jacobs
Orchestra/Ensemble: Berlin RIAS Chamber Chorus, Academy for Ancient Music Berlin

Thank you very much Scarabou. This is as usual one of your quality uploads.

I'm very glad you are still posting RS-links too ! I hope the troubles around RS will soon end. Using a bunch of alternatives does not make a contribution to the accesability of links.
Especially when those uploaders don't even encourage RS-mirrors while this confusion goes on.
Posted By: LaceyBurrows Date: 04 Oct 2010 00:06:55
Rabidshare = no download. Please post proper links to non-criminal sites like MegaUpload, HotFile, Uploading, Depositfiles and Fileserve.
Posted By: brassman Date: 04 Oct 2010 00:12:53
Thanks!!!!!!!!
Posted By: roybaty Date: 04 Oct 2010 01:39:24
@scarabou

I too appreciate the RS links. JDownloader works okay for many other sites but is a pain in the rear if your ISP, like mine, gives you a static IP address.

@LaceyBurrows

Calling that which you don't like "criminal" is a far right -- and far left -- propaganda trick that appeals to small minds and paranoid minds. Please get real.
Posted By: condorita Date: 04 Oct 2010 02:06:43
Wonderful upload. I've been waiting for this one, but...
:-( links are not working
Posted By: wc2 Date: 04 Oct 2010 02:17:28
Any chance of posting in hotfile or megaupload? Rapidshare has been insane lately, and I had to cancel my premium account.
Posted By: robertohcarvalho Date: 04 Oct 2010 02:29:26
Thank You for the post, but there is something wrong with the cue files.
Posted By: Igone Date: 04 Oct 2010 03:01:58
@condorita: RS have altered their user interface. As a premium user go to settings and enable direct download. This may solve your problem.

Changes in the RS user interface also affect a lot of download managers. My old version of IDM doesn't work anymore with RS. IDM has brought an update later on. But I already switched to JDownloader (with _latest_ update of RS-plugin of sept. 29). I have not tried the updated versions of IDM. I think/hope all download managers will bring an update in due course.

Sometimes filenames are rather long, which might cause problems when extracting those files to "deep" directories.
C:\longfilename maybe just long and C:\blabal\bla\bla\longfilename maybe _too_ long ...
Posted By: tapio Date: 04 Oct 2010 03:49:51
With the RS avoiding, file sharing has been effectively (almost) stopped. A big success for the music industry.

thanks a lot! (downloaded OK)
(but in my case (with Foobar2000), corrections in CUEs are needed - I've deleted all lines with INDEX 00 (very strange values indeed!), and all works fine! :-) good luck!

En mi opinión, es un disco demasiado nuevo para ser descargado masivamente.

"Read mode : Burst" --> bad rip :-(

A shame, really... Thanks anyway!
Posted By: lubino Date: 04 Oct 2010 11:52:59
The cuesheets are messy and unusable. This is annoying. A completely worthless upload.
Posted By: Kushami Date: 04 Oct 2010 12:03:55
This is strange. CD1 & 2 burst mode, CD3 secure.
Thank you anyway I wait a fix.

@lubino: why bothering you will just flame jacobs and his "out-of-tune" period strings.

I'm downloading it now then :) If you re-rip I will download again :D

merci Scarabou :) encore un beau cadeau que tu nous fais là ! quant au Burst et Secure, pour moi c'est du snobisme ! j'aimerai bien faire quelques tests avec ces spécialistes de la remarque désagréable :)

Once again thank you, the sound issues are noticeable and a re-rip would be highly appreciated!

Thank you "scarabou" for this version. I'll be looking forward to your new rips of CDs 1 & 2.
Posted By: lubino Date: 04 Oct 2010 18:52:52
@Kushami: All strings can be played out-of-tune. This is totally independent from alleged "period performances". The problem is that too often the "HIP ticket" is used to scam the audience with unbearable recordings. Being a musicologist I need to know all kinds of interpretations, also Jacobs's.
Posted By: aliomodo Date: 05 Oct 2010 08:46:47
@ lubino:
I think you're the only 'troll-musicologist' I know. Congrats! :-7

@ Pancho Villa:
Secure mode is not snobism. For proof, see paracelsius' comment above.
(Otherwise, 99% of EAC users would be snobs...)

@ Scarabou:
THANK YOU, once more! :-)

Thank you!! I found this version very different than all others!
But sometimes Anna Kaappola's voice is so so during this performance, what went wrong with her? Or is it just because of the rip ? I dunno what happen during the rips, perhaps it should worth it to do reupload it again
