Not Louis Andriessen or Peter Schat, but Theo Loevendie is the Stravinsky of the lowlands. Yes, and perhaps the Miles Davis as well; Loevendie (b. 1930), clarinet player, started his musical career as a jazz musician. His LP, “The Theo Loevendie Three Stairs” received an Edison award in 1969. Shortly after, he became professor of composition at the Rotterdam Conservatory of Music and began to focus on the composing of concert music.

Interesting cover. Are the left side TELETUBBIES?
Is this guy the STRAVINSKY of the lowlands? or you wanted to write the TRANSVESTITE of the lowlands. Is it a spelling error?
Tell me, what does [0:18:01.55] mean? 0 days, 18 hours, 01 minute and 55 seconds or is this a photo finish?
YOU ARE VERY FUNNY AND MAKE ME LAUGHING OUT LOUD!
"YES, and perhaps the Miles Davis as well"
VERY FUNNY!

Thanks so much! I really like Loevendie. Any more Dutch modern music is appreciated, especially these hard to find Donemus CDs!

Yes, he's pretty good, isn't he. Another Loevendie is on the way. I'm planning to get more of him, since I've obviously neglected one of the better Dutch composers for too long.
