Nothing pleases me more than finding out a record is actually a lot better than I expected; and then, my expectations weren’t even low to begin with. Here I present to you a very interesting compilation of violin solos written by various contemporary Dutch composers..
Producers managed to include almost everybody that matters in modern Dutch classical music. To mention just a few “hot” names: Michiel van der Aa (1970), Jan Rokus van Roosendael (1960-2005), Toek Numan (1971), Sander Germanus (1972), Chiel Meijering (1954) etc.
One of the performers is internationally renowned violinist Janine Jansen.

You're all welcome. Yes, this 2cd has reassured me there is a lot of talent among contemporary Dutch composers. Now, if only our government would refrain from cutting down on subsidies for orchestras etc., all would be well
