David Sylvian & Holger Czukay - Plight & Premonition (1988) 320Kb CBR 79.6Mb

1. Plight (The Spiralling of Winter Ghosts) (18:30)
2. Premonition (Giant Empty Iron Vessel) (16:21)

Line-up
David Sylvian / synthesizer, guitar, piano, harmonium, vibraphone, mixing, prepared piano
Holger Czukay / organ, piano, producer, performer, mixing, processing, radio, sampled piano

Produced by Holger Czukay
Recorded at Can Studio, Cologne, West Germany, 1986-87
"Plight" mixed and processed Holger Czukay
"Premonition" mixed by Holger Czukay & David Sylvian

Recorded winter 1986/1987, but not released until March 1988 because of legal copyright problems.

In the late 80s, David Sylvian released 2 albums in collaboration with former Can bassist Holger Czukay. Although they were released a year apart, both this album and 'Flux and Mutability' were recorded - very quickly - at the same sessions. This, the first to come out, is a pleasant piece of electronic ambient experimentation. The pieces are both slow, statley and largely rhythm free, but like Fripp and Eno's 'No Pussyfooting', a surprising amount of development takes place as the music unfolds. Defintely non essential, but if you like Tangerine Dream's Zeit this has a similar atmosphere.

@ opfesoft,

Bitrate of Damage is ok, same as the other post here at avax. The problems i hear at the other are at the melody "The First Day". Im sure this gonna be fine now. :-)
And it will be great to hear Adolescent Sex again. My favorite Japan album. And Flux & Mutability..
Sometimes you cant look avay from the fact that its xmas. :-)

Now I looked at the Damage posting: What should be wrong or damaged? First Day is coming up this evening.
Posted By: Serial Date: 20 Dec 2005 22:15:15
@ opfesoft

If you listen to the track "12 - The First Day", 3minues out there are something disturbing. Its an small thing, but in an so quiet song its there..
If it was on the more noisy songs it wouldnt be noticed..

Having probs finding covers to my posts.. Any tip..
