David Byrne - David Byrne | MP3 320Kb | 116Mb

David Byrne took a spare, direct approach on his third song-based solo album, which lent his work an intimacy but did little to restore his commercial prospects, despite a first single, "Angels," that was a ringer for the Talking Heads song "Once in a Lifetime." In fact, the limited instrumentation and focus on Byrne's voice tended to create difficulties with his typically quirky lyrics — with the words in close-up, one wanted them to make some kind of sense. In a denser musical structure, such as the mbaqanga-flavored "You & Eye," one might share his enjoyment, but on other tracks with less to offer aurally, the disturbing question, "What is he talking about?" became inescapable.

@ Senap

"Quality on web since 1897"
Its a Typo !

I know :-) But my very carefully written question also related to 1997.

BTW, seeing you agin: ON Dec 22th I'd written a nice comment to someone's first publication (Dec 20th). The rating I placed is still stored, but the comment did get lost on the server somehow. Don't ask me what happened. Sorry.

"(Spinato) ... But. please tracknames and tags.Please"

Pls don't tell me that he is one of the sadist guys without tags and / or filenames :-) I have a few of his uploads in my processing queue (current state: Jan 20th!!) and even placed some 5-star-ratings on him - like usual, just based on the album, not unpacked the files yet.

BTW, you still didn't answer my question about 1997 and I still do not know if Grasshopper or Frog :-))
Posted By: Serial Date: 02 Feb 2006 00:14:34
@Bully

Answer to your first; Yes..

1997? Its 1897. No typing error. Where i come from its called an "joke" .... :-)))

The great VanDenHul mystery.... Well, i dont deal with frogs.. Are there one named that? Grasshopper came out after i bought mine who was named MC10.
MC10 i think you know as an cheap standard PU, but VDH measured all off them and called the very best for MC1. I think that was the start of Grasshopper. Mine MC10 was an gift from VDH to an importer, who sold it to me. Modifications was done at the cantilever and the diamondshape. Tryed to match it with the arm on my WTT.
The measurementletter just had two straight paralell lines. The PU was very analytic and i dont think i would have used it today. It needed some tubes and mosfets to soften up a bit :-)

Now i shall sit down and write tracknames on some MP3 files i downloaded :-(

TNX for the careful explanation about your pickup.
Yep, there are frogs. At least vandenhul.com claims so.

"Modifications was done at the cantilever and the diamondshape."

At the diamondshape?? And I thought I was crazy at those days :-))) Didn't the diamond change its shape again during your many hours of use? Nah, no answer needed. :-)

"Now i shall sit down and write tracknames on some MP3 files i downloaded :-("

You remember that I'm currently processing Jan 20th? Rings a beell?? Remember Giles??? Hehehe ... lemme quote:

"There has been som mess up with tag sand tracknames on this one. Sorry for that.. If any insane collector out there will edit and reup it would be nice.. But the music, and there are music, are all in order. Get it down and have an nice insane weekend everybody.
Serial"

Your wise grandma never told you about glasshouses and stones? :-)))
Posted By: Serial Date: 02 Feb 2006 02:02:40
@Bully

Its my only i ripped with messed up tags and tracknames on as i know about. The fuckup happen at FreeDB where the only alternative was do it that way or use "Track 1" metod.
Since i couldent live without that beautiful music i had to rip it somehow.

Did at least try.

I do have a lot of albums that not are in the FreeDB list, and not are ripped.

My grandma was very old, so her version was; "Dont trow glass when you live in an stonecave" :-)

And the shape doesnt change. Its Diamond...

@ Serial

"And the shape doesnt change. Its Diamond..."

I see, you still believe in Marilyn :-)

"Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our horns in the end
But banana or pear-shaped
These rocks don't lose their shape
Diamonds are a deer's best friend."

OK, the lessons how to type in ID3tags yourself instead of using faulty FreeDB entries in one of your next uploads. (Hint: Your PC does have a keyboard too, not only a mouse)

@Bullyman

Youre an poet also... What shall i say :-))

I like to play with the mouse you know...

That day i have to type in all the tracknames on my
rips, i give up.. True....
