Mind Over Matter - Avatar (1998)
EAC Rip | FLAC (image+.cue+log) - 468 MB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps (LAME 3.93) - 176 MB | Covers includes
Genre: New Age, World, Electronic | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Innovative Communication (87 2 328-2)

This album contains one of the best tracks I have ever heard. The outstanding number is the title track "Avatar", twenty minutes of pure brilliance. It is a collaboration with Stephen Parsick, whose album "Traces of the Past" has only just fallen out of our charts after having been there for months. "Avatar" unbelievably however is even better than anything on that album. Things start quietly enough, but then a guitar sequence can just start to be heard. The guitar being very processed so that it sounds like another synth as on Ashra"s "Inventions for Electric Guitar". We then get a trademark Parsick sequence combining in such a way with the guitar as to send shivers of excitement down the spine...

Drone Ambient, New Age | Official Web Release
MP3 320 CBR | 183.1 MB | Artwork
Label: USC | Catalog Number: USC-WR-1202-0021

The long epic recording made by two ambient composers. Soundscape music of vast space. Minimalistic drone sketches, which become more complex during the flow of music. Immovable and homogeneous field is what should be imagined to these sounds of contemplation. Absolutely calmness and a uniform current of time. Only an infinite field - same in any day.

Saty - Simulacra (2010/2012)
Ambient, World | Official Web Release
MP3 320 CBR | 272.5 MB | Artwork (Front Cover Only)
Label: USC | Catalog Number: USC-WR-1202.0020

Music of this Saty's work transmits a little piece of Eastern wisdom. Skillful and sofisticated use of traditional Eastern instruments combines with ethereal electronic pads - it is a real mastery, worthy the most careful attention. The composer has made a great musical exploration and found those important particles which are completely able to transmit spirit and beauty of Eastern traditions. The album is divided on two logical parts. The first is more common and represents traditional ambient with slow sound evolution. The second part paints visions of the city Mumbai in India and is more instrumental, sometimes adjoining with traditional ragas.

Popol Vuh - Hosianna Mantra & Tantric Songs (1991)
EAC Rip | FLAC (image+.cue+log) - 371 MB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps (LAME 3.93) - 183 MB | Covers includes
Genre: Krautrock, Ethnic, Ambient | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Celestial Harmonies (13006-2)

A meditational feast halfway between religious/classical trance music and Germanic space music of the time, this reissue of 1972's Hosianna Mantra and 1979's Die Nact der Seele - Tantric Songs includes some of the most beautiful music Popol Vuh ever recorded. Though the electronics had been forsaken, the music is still quite evocative - "Mantra of the Touching of the Earth" and "Angel of the Air" (both from Tantric Songs) present slow-moving piano passages, punctuated by sitar and tambura. Hosianna Mantra includes much beautiful work by Fricke on piano and harpsichord, Conny Veit on electric guitar, and Djong Yun reciting Biblical passages on "Kyrie," "Blessing" and the title track.

This five-LP box set (which has been reissued on CD) contains nearly all of Stan Getz's classic bossa nova sessions, five wonderful yet diverse LPs (Jazz Samba, Big Band Bossa Nova, Jazz Samba Encore, Stan Getz/Laurindo Almedia, and Getz/Gilberto). The cool-toned tenor is heard on his groundbreaking collaboration with guitarist Charlie Byrd (which resulted in the best-selling "Desafinado"), is showcased with a big band arranged by Gary McFarland (introducing "No More Blues" and "One Note Samba"), stars in recordings with guitarists Laurindo Almeida and Luiz Bonfa, and is heard at the famous meeting with composer/pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim, guitarist João Gilberto, and singer Astrud Gilberto, which resulted in the major hit "The Girl From Ipanema." This essential set finishes off with three previously unissued performances from a 1964 Carnegie Hall Concert, concluding with a remake of "The Girl From Ipanema." These recordings stand as proof that it is possible for good music to sell.

Dean Martin - Memories Are Made Of This (2006) [2CDs set]
2x EAC-FLAC(tracks) with CUE & LOG - 641 MB | Covers | MP3 CBR 320 Kbps - 249 MB
Pop / Easy Listening / Oldies | 109:08 mins | Label: Demon Music Group Ltd., U.K. | Cat. # GRFL-013

While this two-disc compilation is hardly definitive, it does contain many, many classic performances and it lists for a good price. There are original recordings of "That's Amore," "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening," "Lucky Song," "Georgia on My Mind," "That Lucky Old Sun," "Under the Bridges of Paris," and a few dozen others. What a compilation like this reveals about an artist like Dean Martin is simply how talented he was. Sure, there are the sappy Italian songs and the saloon songs, but there are also country songs, pop standards, and jazz tunes thrown in this mix, and like his pal Frank, Martin could sing anything he wanted to at will. Memories Are Made of This portrays how gifted he was, and makes even the most casually curious listener want to dig for more. That is the function of a good compilation, and this one merits attention for that alone.

"Parking Lot At San Diego International Airport" - official soundtrack of "Route 66", the first German Open Source Movie, reaching more than 1 million visitors. The songs have been newly arranged for the album. Thomas Bechholds celebrates the foundation of their own style that can be hard to describe. Through the use of old analog and modern digital equipment, he brings over a thick atmosphere. Great exceptional rhythm passages alternate with wide open spaces and beautiful melody lines. With this CD he manages a road trip with a difference.

Harald Grosskopf - Synthesist (1980)
EAC Rip | FLAC (image+.cue+log) - 317 MB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps (LAME 3.93) - 129 MB | Covers includes
Genre: Electronic, Berlin School | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Think Progressive (TPCD 1.906.051)

Already an obscure record when it was initially released in 1980, Harald Grosskopf's Synthesist has become something of a cult item, the kind of album that inspires devotion in aficionados of early electronica and German music. Grosskopf himself has kept steadily busy as a solo musician and session drummer since the late '60s, being associated with early lineups of the Scorpions and Wallenstein and working with Lilli Berlin and Cosmic Jokers, among many others. But despite his long underground career, his debut solo Synthesist may ultimately stand as his defining work and as a key representation of the path of electronic music.
