Basia never had too many hits, racking up only three charting singles on the Top 100 ("Time and Tide," "New Day for You," "Cruising for Bruising"), but Clear Horizon: The Best of Basia remains an engaging listen nevertheless, because it balances those hits with strong album tracks and forgotten singles. Unlike many artists with a handful of hits, Basia made fully realized albums, but since none of them were drastically dissimilar in style, this compilation works very well. Not only is it the ideal choice for the curious and casual fan, it is truly entertaining for the hardcore fan, since it rounds up all the best cuts on one disc.

Ultrabass is a project of Peter Sawatzki (founder of german synthband Boytronic). Here he takes his electronic skills to a new dimension. He released two albums before he died, "Planet SYS" and "Trance Beats". He invented the chill out genre with the ethnic influences. He deserves a lot more credit than he got. Sawatzki was a musical genius who the world totally ignored. It is pretty hard to obtain his CDs, but buy this one if you get the chance. Perfect to play while driving or relaxing at home.

Exotic Creatures of the Deep is the twenty-first album by Sparks. Ron Mael injects rock instrumentation into still predominantly classical orchestrations, but the tunes themselves are more wide-ranging than on the last album. Melodic highlights come fast and furious. The formula is simple – to merge pure rock melody with classical stringed grandeur. It can be argued that Sparks’ sound is now as conceptual as it can possibly get. Multi-layered sounds pour out of the speakers, almost drowning you in lushness.

Her style is unusual, consisting of breathy spoken passages over a heavy dance beat. Merge was the project of brothers Steve and Ian Pearson, UK composers. This was the only CD released on their own label. Participators of EMMA festival of 1994 they were the high voltage duo behind electronic music. It is rumoured there was a 2nd album called "Secret Life Of Machines", but unfortunately never released.
