The album features a performance given on 16th June 2007, in the Grand Auditorium of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, at a memorial concert paying tribute to Deben Bhattacharya, the renowned Indian musicologist. The first raga, "Bhimpalasi", is a raga of the afternoon, it has a calm, quiet majesty and opens with the meditative 'alap'. In the second stage of the dhrupad, Wasif is accompanied by Mohan Shyam Sharma on the pakhavaj (a double-headed barrel drum). The next item in the concert is the raga "Adana", it is traditionally played between the hours of midnight and three a.m. and considered one of the most popular varieties. For the final raga Wasif chose a gentle rendition of raga "Bengal" sung on this recording without pakhavaj accompaniment.
