Maria Teresa has never forgotten her portuguese roots. She began her career as a singer in the Parisian cabarets and met the Brazilian guitarist Toninho do Carmo.

The famous international star Georges Moustaki invited her many times to his shows. Two CDs with Harmonia Mundi records and "Omar" as the album of the year, sold at more 15 000 copies make of Maria Teresa one of the new figure of fado and portugues vocalist.

Since 1998 many great international festivals invite her. Her particulary beautiful voice supports the nostaligic fado, the happyness of the vira, the baiao, samba and foro, and created a unique musical bridge between Portugal and Brazil.

Maria teresa plays with same musicians as Mayra Andrade, Titi Robin and Georges Moustaki.
