FOCUS began its work in the end of the 60´s with Thijs Van Leer (flute, organ), Martin Dresden (bass) and Hans Cleuver (drums). They were thinking to form a band like Steve Winwood´s TRAFFIC, but destiny changes ones ways. They were invited to support the cast from the Dutch version of HAIR. Afterwards, the first LP was produced, with the addition of guitarist Jan Akkerman. More here.

I remember reading in an musicpaper early seventies, "now is Jan guitargod". Maybe it was after their Rainbow consert. I dont know, but since the name "Jan" is an familiar name of mine i put the side in the paper up on my wall :-)
This group is of course one of the greatest favorites of mine.
I will up some of their works in about a week or two if not anybody else do it :-)
