Bert Van Den Brink – Bert’s Bytes (2007)
Challenge Jazz | 2007 | Jazz | EAC RIP | FLAC (IMAGE)+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 179Mb+5Mb

Bert van den Brink has a sizable discography, having recorded with a number of widely known artists including Lee Konitz, Denise Jannah, Chet Baker, Toots Thielemans, and Philip Catherine. This unusual solo piano date came about after the pianist created a number of musical fragments over a period of time, while he also adds full compositions and two songs by Clare Fischer. "Themes and Variations" takes one theme and explores it in a variety of jazz and semi-classical settings, including Afro-Cuban and a variation that sounds like early 20th century Igor Stravinsky. "Valse Cliche" has the flavor of Dave Brubeck, while the delicate "Little Owl" has an Impressionist air. "Early Autumn" suggests a gentle breeze on a clear day, with leaves gradually coming down one by one with the change of season. "Tristesse" is a dramatic sonata.

The pianist has previously recorded his haunting waltz "Woods" as a piano duet on two earlier sessions, though this solo interpretation expands upon its theme. Fans of Bert van den Brink's earlier recordings will enjoy this solo session.

Hi sir.. It's interesting; I didn't see your this share yesterday or before; lastly I've downloaded yours
M. Brecker; and now I see this share before the M. Brecker?
Maybe I've to go to a doctor for my eyes :D, or maybe there's a problem in Avax?

Anyway, thank you very much sir; download in progress.
Best regards sir;
Oceandrop.

@Oceandrop; I'm proud the have him introduced to you, because I believe that many talented musicians have to become known by more music lovers :)))))
Posted By: Oceandrop Date: 10 Jul 2010 16:09:32
Yes sir; I believe in you, for me; it's impossible to meet that much of great jazz-men by being local..
Exploring AvaxHome is a wonderful chance for me; for example if I couldn't discover Peter Beets; sure it'll be
a big absence, I see it like this..
Best regards sir;
Oceandrop. (I think sometimes my nick, Oceandrop can be pretentious; maybe I've to change it to
OceanAtom / OceanParticle :D = Only thing I know well is, that I don't know anything well :D )

Hi Oceandrop,

Really, you are much too modest, and certainly not pretentious by using the nick you have :))) You are a curious man, who is willing to learn about others than the famous and world wide known jazz musicians :)))
