Jerry Garcia and David Grisman - Shady Grove (1994)

The music is pure and sweet and often sad. Garcia's voice is somehow so strangely magnetic and alluring, and their unadorned instrumental accompaniments are so simple and yet lovely. David Grisman on the mandolin is simply a musical treasure on this recording. An exquisite piece of music by two best friends and that fact is more than obvious here.
