For more than 15 years the Yuri Honing Trio have been on the cutting edge of Dutch music scene. These three musicians form one of the most internationally successful Dutch jazz groups of today. The trio is centred around Yuri Honing, a brilliant saxophone player and composer who has been considered one of the leading Dutch voices in jazz since the nineties. Besides Yuri Honing, the trio consists of Tony Overwater, Holland’s most extraordinary bass player and Joost Lijbaart, one of the most innovative drummers in Holland. While touring in more than 40 countries around the world, the Yuri Honing Trio have built a unique personal style which is based on jazz, pop music and non-western musical traditions.
