There is something about this demos that I absolutely ADORE. This is a very hard to find boot (or so I was told... he he he he) that features the best selections of tape recordings John Lennon produced while staying in Bermuda to serve as guides when we was back in NYC ready to record Double Fantasy.

The progress and level of detail that these recordings show astonishes me every time I listen to them and, in a way, inspired me to make my own recordings (I am an amateur musician and mostly write to myself and for my girlfriend). Just try to imagine John purchasing two mics, a Panasonic and Sony boom boxes, some cables and stands, and voila! He had a make shift studio at his villa to record everything he could write there. These boot has some of the most significant tracks of those tapes and in some cases they represent a RADICALLY different version or a much more soulful and moving take on songs that were to become classics.

This boot might not be for every taste, but if you are a Lennon fan, you HAVE to listen to it. PERIOD.

ENJOY and comment! I'd love to know if you like this one or not, since it's a personal favourite.

YEAH! Now this is what I'm talking about! EXCELLENT post mate, EXCELLENT!
I don't own this one, and you were right in saying it's hard to find... I certainly never found it! hehe

It seems we have more in common than just a great bootleg collection, I too am an amateur musician. I love messing around on my 4-track mixing desk and listening to things like this always inspire me to do more.

I have to pop out for a bit but I'm going to set this one off downloading and I'll have a good listen when I get back in.

This is awesome mate, absolutley awesome! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!

Just thought... do you have, or have heard "Filming The Fantasies: The Double Fantasy Sessions & Infamous Diary Tape"?
It's a bootleg of the last studio filming session 18th August 1980 and John's famous audio diary from 5th September 1979.

I am happy to upload this if you want to hear it, once I've completed the Ultra Rare Trax uploads. :)

looks like you really liked it mate. i'm really happy for that. this is a great little boot, and i'm thrilled to find out that we have more in common than collecting boots! =) YEAH!

i don't have that diary you mention and i'd LOVE to hear it... just yesterday, while trying to find the covers of this boot (i had it under "bermuda shorts", not "your daddy's here"), i found some nips of a Lennon diary in which HE says HE had an idea for a "FROG SONG", called Paul to ask for feedback, Paul said was stupid and... WEEEEEEEEEEEELL! what about Macca's FROG SONG!?!?!? that really SHOCKED ME TO PIECES!! also found some stories from his father's last wife about John's primal scream thearpy... that one was REALLY emotional. i'll send you the links in a private message later.

it's so cool to see the Beatles and Lennon as fresh and meaningful as ever.
