2007 reissue of the debut album from Rock's first openly-gay artist and one of the few American Glam Rock artists to achieve any kind of fame (or, in Jobriath's case, notoriety). Originally released in 1973, Jobriath was an exciting trip into a new musical and theatrical world, created a few short years before by David Bowie. In fact, his similarities to Bowie are what attracted critics, then turned them away in equal measures. Though the album eventually achieved mediocre sales due to the curiosity value alone, the listener was surprised to find that this debut release had plenty of substance and musical value. Amongst all the drama, strange lyrics and grandiose production lies a batch of great songs.
