Joël Francisco Peri was born in 1945 in Floing France.
He comes from a family of musicians
Joël started to play drums at age of 10
And when he was 16 he played Gipsy-Jazz on his swinging guitar.
In 1971 he went to Paris and got involved with the South American music scene.
At the same time he got to known the typical S.Amercan instruments like the kena, zampoña, charango and bombo
He liked the music so much that he started to practice the flutes 5 - 6 hours daily
Very soon he develop graet perfection in playing wind instrument.
Today he builds and tunes his own flutes and composes melodies for the kena and zampoña.
The origin of the wonderful Indian flutes lies in famous ancient cultures of the Aymara and Inka peolple.
The traditional instruments they used were the kena (shepherd's pipe), zampoña (a pan pipe), tarkas ( a wooden flute with mouthpiece) and other fluters as well.
Originally they were all pentatonic instruments.
In time the Kena develop into the flute we know today.
The charango (ten string instrument) was made of shell of an armadillo.
It came into being the Spanish conquest of S. America and is a sign of creativeity of the indians, who develop their own equivalent guitar.
In modern song and dances the guitar is also used.
Enjoy
