John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman (Limited Edition)
Label: MCA / Impulse | EAC img | FLAC+CUE+LOG | 170MB | scans
Genre: Jazz

This John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman edition is very rare and hard to find anymore since the product is discontinued by the manufacturer. It was first published in 1986 by MCA. This is a German pressing of that edition which was digitally remastered from the original stereo master tapes and includes 7 songs (most of the other releases carry 6 tracks). I think some of you will appreciate this collectible item. Have fun!

This is one of the most fabulous records he ever recorded.
Thank you very much indeed. It's good to get this!

And this is also highly recommended: It's the only source I know of ( except my hard drive).
The sound quality is so good that I and others often used the vinyl pressing to judge upper mid-range qualities. It should be sharp and clear, but not edgy. Although the cd sound is not as exceptional as the lp pressing, this is as good an an artistic achievement as anything Mr Hartmann ever recorded.

-and thanks to Bolmarcich for this one:

Thanks very much, aeolos. I fully agree with acasiatree. Recorded in 1963 by Rudy Van Gelder during Van Gelder's golden recording era..

Thanks aeolos - this is actually an excellent master! I already have the MFSL issue, which is good - but this possibly even better - it's definitely a little cleaner and clearer without sounding sterile. Lovely deep bass too. It's subjective, but right now I'm liking this version best. And the extra track is an essential bonus! Many thanks

@garson
Hello my friend. These are the values that EAC detected when testing and examining my drives. I didn't put them manually. Take care!

Yeah, I know Optiarc supports C2 pointers, so EAC uses detected settings. But I think best results are with C2 pointers disabled and Defeat audio cache enabled, regardless of used drive.
