Drahdiwaberl - 6 Album Discgraphy (1981-2004)

Drahdiwaberl is an Austrian Hard Rock and Metal band. Head of the formation is former highschool teacher Stefan Weber. It's stated to be Austria's heaviest musical act. They are especially famous for their elaborate stage shows which often include bizarre and, as some claim, disgusting elements. The band was originally founded in 1969 but didn't manage to get a record label, so the just performed locally for the first 10 years. In 1981 they finally released their first record "Psychoterror". They weren't really successful throughout their career, but the band has still a big fan community, not to forget that Austria's most famous musician Falco evolved from Drahdiwaberl, where he was the band's bassist from 1878-1983

First off I have to say that I don't own any of these records because it's quite impossible to get even a single one. They are out of print since their last remaster in 2000. So what I got here, is what I collected throughout the internet. I'm missing only one album, the third studio album "Werwolfromantik".

It's the first and the most successful Drahdiwaberl album. "Ganz Wien" is the song Falco wrote for the band and which he later took onto his own first album.

This is Drahdiwaberl's second album, which was quite as successful as its predecessor. The sound is rougher and the lyrics are more critical.

Drahdiwaberl's fourth studio album advanced their sound into a more harder direction and the lyrics were mostly about modern society, especially the Austrian society. "Jeanny Part 13" is a parody of Falco's "Jeanny" and its many sequels.

This is Drahdiwaberl's fifth studio album and was till then their most agressive effort, musical and lyrical.

"Torte statt Worte" only consists of hard songs and its lyrics are about racism and the Austrian politics at this time. The new sonic direction is the Neue Deutsche Härte and so Drahdiwaberl sounds much like Rammstein on this record.

Drahdiwaberl's last album to date is all about religion and world politics. The most successful song of this album was "Gusch Bush" which was directed against the government of George W. Bush and the war in Iraq.
