| “ | Code Of Violence combines thrash and death metal. Nocturnal Fear's brand of thrash is heavy and extreme, more of the European style of bands like Kreator and Sodom than U.S. Bay Area thrash. The guitars are front and center, as Slavehunter rips through lightning fast riffs and erupts into creative solos. The death metal influences add another level of brutality that bounces off the thrash instead of weighing it down. And even though Nocturnal Fear plays at breakneck speed much of the time, they also take the pedal off the metal periodically and get into a great groove. Necromodeus' vocals are somewhere between death metal growls and thrash style yells. He has a raspy style and the lyrics are pretty understandable. With song titles like "Rising Hatred" and "Flamethrower Holocaust" you can get the general idea of their subject matter. Code Of Violence is raw and intense, but they also inject some melody into the songs.
