Of the four of the performances of Handel's Messiah that I have seen that are available on DVD (Hogwood, Marriner, Cleobury, and Kantorow), this is my favorite. It does suffer from age (recorded in 1982) and rather poor videography at times (you may wish to peruse the reviews at Amazon before downloading). However, this is the most captivating, thanks to the wonderful performance of the soloists. This is the same group that performed on Hogwood's sublime Messiah recording of 1980, albeit with a different choir.

Yes, to burn it you'll need a DL DVD, unless you shrink it (not recommended)
