Sunshine: Music from the Motion Picture is the soundtrack album for the 2007 Danny Boyle film Sunshine and is a joint composition by the electronic band Underworld and film score composer John Murphy. Underworld has a long history of collaboration with Boyle, having been featured on the soundtracks to Boyle's Trainspotting, A Life Less Ordinary, and The Beach. Murphy composed the scores to Boyle's 28 Days Later and Millions.
The soundtrack includes "Avenue of Hope" by I Am Kloot and "Peggy Sussed" by Underworld. These tracks are featured during the movie's end credits. "Capa Meets the Sun" is a slightly edited version of "To Heal", from Underworld's album Oblivion with Bells.
John Murphy (born 4 March 1965) is an English film composer. He is a self taught multi-instrumental musician who began his career in the 1980s working notably with The Lotus Eaters, Thomas Lang and Claudia Brücken.
Murphy is best known for composing the music for Vadim Jean's One More Kiss, Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Michael Mann's Miami Vice, Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass, and the Danny Boyle films 28 Days Later, Millions, and Sunshine. His instrumental tracks "In the House – In a Heartbeat" and "Adagio in D Minor" have been featured in a variety of TV shows, commercials and film trailers.
Underworld are a British electronic group, and principal name under which duo Karl Hyde and Rick Smith have recorded together since 1980
