The pagan death metal project Vinterblot took shape in Bari (Italy) in winter 2008 due to the initiative of such musicians as Vandrer, Wolf, Eruner and Fjorgynn, who would lately bid welcome to the singer Phanaeus from death metal band Mharbh. Their music is to be rated as a merger between the European death metal tradition and the typical dark mood featuring black metal and ambient music, whose atmospheres are the solid ground on which themes like the constant relation between the man , his darkest sides and the myth are based.

The band members (formerly with Eyes Of Blue) would all soon head for greater things in bands such as Gentle Giant, Man and Wild Turkey (formed by ex-Jethro Tull bassist Glenn Cornick) and Rick Wakman's band. Here’s another melodic and brazen lost gem of U.S. 80’s underground power metal that packs a serious steel-toe round house to the groin. The vocals are not quite traditional power metal here, while very high ranging and at times epic, there’s an underlying aggressive and gritty sense of head-banger anthems that really turns up the heat like swallowing a raw batch of habaneros and chasing them with pure ethanol on an already dry throat.

It appears to me that he has paid close attention to maintaining a feeling of heaviness so no one is left with any doubt where he stands, and that is pure Heavy Metal!

Le domino noir (The Black Domino) is an opéra comique by the French composer Daniel Auber, first performed on 2 December 1837 by the Opéra-Comique at the Salle de la Bourse in Paris.[1] The libretto to the three-act piece is by Auber's usual collaborator, Eugène Scribe. It was one of Auber's most successful works, clocking up 1,207 performances by 1909. It received its UK premiere in 1838 and appeared in the USA the following year. Some of Auber's music has a Spanish flavour to reflect its setting.
