Déjà 25 ans que le grand Jacques est mort et toujours le même constat, il reste l’un des monstres sacrés de la chanson française. Il continue même à vendre chaque année 250 000 albums. Cette compilation regroupe toutes ses chansons les plus connues, de La Quête extraite de « L’Homme de la Mancha » à La Valse à mille temps et autres grands classiques. Pour les fans, le plus grand trésor de cette compilation hommage réside bien entendu dans la découverte de cinq titres inédits, enregistrés à l’automne 1977, et potentiellement travaillés à l’époque pour figurer sur « Les Marquises », le dernier album de Brel. Cinq titres enfouis depuis 26 ans qui procurent l’émotion intense de découvrir un nouveau pan de la dernière année de Brel.

The double-disc "INFINIMENT" is a superb and near-definitive anthology of songs by the legendary French singer Jacques Brel. Brel's best-known tunes are here--"Le Moribond" (known to Americans via Terry Jack's version titled "Seasons in the Sun"), the sweeping "Les Vieux", and the heartwrenching "Ne me quitte pas" (which has been covered by countless English-language artists as "If You Go Away"), just to name a few. Anexcellent live rendition of "Amsterdam", one of the artist's most memorable tunes, is particularly powerful. Throughout, Brel's resonant baritone, ironic wit, and masterful flair for nuanced, theatrical delivery are on abundant display.
What distinguishes "INFINIMENT" from other Brel compilations,however, is the presence of 11 previously unreleased tracks, including five outtakes from the sessions for his final album. Story-songs in the classic Brel tradition, these are tales of tragic love ("Sans Exigences"), national pride ("Mai 40"), and fanciful visions ("La Cathedrale", in which the narrator imagines sailing the world in a church-turned-ship). Additionally, this highly recommended collection boasts beautifully retouched sound (hearing Brel through crystal-clear remastering is stunning).

Free CD ripper ? Et pourquoi pas EAC ou dBpoweramp, qui seuls permettent de faire des rips bitperfect ?
Et attention, le CD No 2 contient des chansons du CD No 1, et les chansons du CD No 2 ne sont pas tagguées !
Dommage que les posts français soient aussi mal fichus, ça ne contribue pas à renforcer l'image de marque de la France, déjà tellement malmenée par leurs footballeurs !!

Why free CD ripper ? Why not EAC or dBpoweramp, which allow bitperfect rips ?
And be careful, the second CD contains songs from the first, and the songs of the second are not tagged at all !
Sad that the french posts are so bad, it doesn't contribute to the reputation of France, which is already degraded by their footballers !!

@staki EAC? très bon logiciel, mais, car il y a un mais, ce foutu logiciel prend une éternité a copier un cd et en plus il a tendance
a geler mon ordi...
Si tu trouve le post mal fichu t'es pas oblige de le télécharger.. le cd 2 ne contient pas de chansons du CD 1, j'ai vérifié.
et puis pour ce qui est des tags je crois que tu n'a pas regardé comme il faut, tous les fichiers sont bien identifiés.

Perds pas ton temps à répondre aux ours mal léchés de tous poils (et même pelés)... tu risquerais de les instruire... et ils ne le méritent pas vraiment!

Continue pour tous ceux, NOMBREUX et dont je suis, qui apprécient ton TRAVAIL, et surtout TA GENEROSITE! ! !

N.B. :Si je le pouvais, crois-moi je participerais en tant qu'"uploader"... mais c'est hors de mes capacités, alors je ne peux que chercher des mots pour exprimer ma gratitude à ceux comme toi qui se dévouent pour les autres, même et y compris les "staki"! (qui feraient bien mieux de ne se consacrer qu'au foot!>>> Grrrr mon p'tit coup d'gu...)

@branruz that's right he's from Belgium... but you know the fench if someone has talent and he sings in french then he's French :)
Besides I don't think Brel liked very much his countryme listen to his song Les Flamingants...

Totally agree with the French bad habit of integrating everything that has got talent under their flag even if not french (but just sounding French)
For Brel and his love of his country, Hhhmmm, well, I don't really agree. In fact, Brel was a real fan of his country.
So what's this song all about ? Allow me, here, to simplify an extremely complex situation.
Even if "flamingant" is a French word sounding like "flamand", it covers another reality. "Flamingant" is a term only designating the extremists nationalists from Flanders. As he says in the same song : the "Flamingants" tarnishes Flanders. For example amongst others by reminding us about their dark role during WW2.

And, finally, let me reiterate my thanks for your good job.
