It is probably best to allow the music to speak for itself. As for me, I listen to this album at least once a month, preferrably with my girlfriend. It has definitely touched our hearts.
A lot of famous artists have a little of Lanois in their music and you will probably hear it. U2, Peter Gabriel... His wife, Emmilou Harris, who seconds him on the first track...Brian Eno etc
This is by far my favourite Lanois album and I never get tired of listening to it.

I happen to have the version that for some reason includes the extra track, nr 14, titled Red, and this is a copy of that, although the scans are of the 13 track version, which I also own. (I told you I liked this album ...)
