Born from the ashes of the prog band Jet, whose sole album was 1972's Fede Speranza Carita, Matia Bazar formed in Genoa in 1975, with a line-up comprising Piero Cassano (keyboards), Aldo Stellita (bass), Carlo "Bimbo" Marrale (guitar), Giancarlo Golzi (drums) and singer Antonella Ruggiero. The very first releases — e.g. the singles "Stasera Che Sera", "Cavallo Bianco", "Per un'Ora d'Amore", "Solo Tu" and "Mister Mandarino" and the albums Matia Bazar (1976), Gran Bazar (1977) and the anthology L'Oro dei Matia Bazar — showcased the band's ability to build well-crafted and lush pop songs, made unique by the huge extension and versatility of Ruggiero's voice.

She may be bald, and her parenting skills may be more backwoods than the celebrity-obsessed would prefer, but when it comes to her profession (singing pop songs, for those who have forgotten) you've got to give Brit a break. Not because her previous records have been flawless--for all its first-listen appeal, Oops! I Did It Again will drive even the most tolerant pop fiend bats after two repeats, and it's hard for long-term fans to overlook the unfortunate "I Love Rock N Roll" off 2001's Britney--but because, despite all the personal tumult, she's feeling the music like never before. Blackout is not a brilliant record for its vocals, though they're good in the cooing, sex-kittenish way we've come to expect (check first single "Gimme More," a monstrously catchy dance-pop number, for the requisite moans and sighs). But it is brilliant.

I think we all remember who the "Captain Hollywood Project" was in the mid 90's era. I believe "Nina" sang the lyrics to the onece international known 1994' hit "More and More!" as well as "Only with you" I still love these songs dispite all the criticism around the world about the Eurodance Fame. And I really think such an artist as "Nina" could of made a buzz in the Dance Music Industry in the U.S. Believe it or not I got a glimpse of her video for the song "Until all your dreams come true on "Youtube.com" I emailed it to a friend and he was intrigued and astonished of how this artist never became a hit in the U.S. after the "Captain Hollywood" fame. He said he always wondered who sang the backup for "More and More"! Well infact I will highly recommend the CD "Dare!" to any fans of Eurodance.
